Align Financial supports a number of charities, one of them being Every Little Bit Helps, a registered charity that collects toiletries, airline amenity kits and cosmetic samples and distributes these items to those in need. They pack these items into individual kits and deliver to homeless shelters, asylum seekers, victims of Domestic Violence and troubled youth groups.
Every Little Bit Helps was established in 2014 by Katryna Robinson when she was armed with a basket of toiletries collected by her husband from work trips, which she decided to donate to a homeless community under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There she found more than 20 men and women that gratefully accepted them. Every Little Bit Helps was established after finding that many facilities providing laundry and shower facilities aren’t able to supply little more than running water and don’t have regular and reliable access to basic toiletry products.
As the winner of the 2016 AFA Adviser of the Year, Darren was a guest speaker on the annual AFA National Practitioners Roadshow around Australia. Living the rock star lifestyle by staying in a different hotel every night for two weeks, Darren used soap sparingly and popped the unopened hotel toiletries in his carry-on bag. With a little help from his tour colleagues, he amassed a small suitcase full of products which was today given to Every Little Bit Helps (donations can be made at selected Flight Centre stores, check the Every Little Bit Helps webpage for more drop-off points).
