Well done if you completed the recent Census. It may have felt like just another form to fill out or task to tick off, but it’s helpful to reflect on how participating in the Census is actually a meaningful contribution that each of us can make. It’s one of those national moments where every Australian household gets to help shape the country – without needing to attend a meeting, join a committee or donate a cent.
As a financial adviser, I often say good decisions start with good information – so you could consider the recent Census to be Australia’s national version of a ‘fact find’ on itself: about who lives where, how communities are changing, what families need, where older Australians may need support and where future pressure points are likely to appear.
So if you did your civic duty and filled out the form on Census night, consider your participation a small act of public generosity. You may never know which library, bus route, aged-care place, community service or local investment your response helped justify, but by being counted, you’ve helped to base decisions around real people and to take some of the guesswork out of planning for the future.
If you’re looking to take the guesswork out of your financial future and need professional financial advice, I’m here to help. To make an appointment, call me at Align Financial on (02) 9913 9995.
